In the Lenormand divination system there are two cards called the Snake and the Fox that describe a sort of person who is selfish, self centered, and who feels toxic when you come into contact with them. Today I had an experience with a Snake person who came across as a Fox. And it totally ruined my whole day, like seriously I hope this guy gets fired from his job and has a big reality check about what a total loser he is for treating people so poorly.
Very quick, the Snake card represents a person whose energy makes you feel like you've been attacked on some level. Like it feels biting. Like think of that rude person in a diner who like tells the staff that their food sucks and the service is terrible and they aren't going to pay and they write a note on the receipt saying the whole place should go to hell. Like that douchebag person. And the Fox card represents that person who pretty much does everything from the perspective that it will pay off for them in the end. Think of a salesman who totally makes small talk with you and acts interested in your life and he tries to make you forget the fact that he is only talking to you because he needs you to buy something so that he can get paid.
So this guy was selling like some hair product and it was like $270 but of course at that moment he could give it to me for $140. And I'm a nice person, like I'll let you do your demonstration on me if you really get me at a moment when I am happy. And I was so happy today. So this creep like wants to straighten my hair and he's like calling me Ms. America and all this BS and I was like, "Tell me about your product." So like then he takes his cell phone out and starts reading his messages and I was confused because I thought he was still doing my hair. So then he stops looking at the messages and starts making small talk again and starts asking me if I like younger guys and if I would consider being with a woman and wtf? Seriously jerk?
So then he tells me that he can give me the hair thing for like $70 but I had to buy it right at that moment. And I was like, "I don't like being pressured like that." And he gets like annoyed with me and is like, "If you weren't going to buy anything why did you do the demo?" and then he like takes his phone out and that's it. I felt so weird and dismissed and like if he is like this to everyone I hope that he gets fired from his job because he works in the mall and he has the potential to ruin a lot of peoples day.
So here we have the example of the Fox where he's trying to be charming or engaging but he's doing such a bad job at it that he can't help but get to the point and just show his true colors and be like, "Are you gonna buy something or not?"
So a true Fox would have been more friendly, more charming, less upset that you chose not to buy it. The Fox would have been like, "If I just keep being nice maybe she will come back."
This Snake of a jerk was all Snake and just couldn't fake it. His whole thing was, "I don't want to waste my time so if you're not going to give me what I want." The thing with the Snake though is that has interaction has a real toxic effect. Like I literally was down for the rest of the day.
Cards from this lovely deck.
